febrero 2, 2018 @ 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm

about this event

This afternoon meeting will offer an interesting update on the modern investigations of dizziness – ‘video head impulse test’ (vHIT) and ‘vestibular evoked myogenic potentials’ (VEMPS) will be discussed.

Dr Louisa Murdin is a widely published expert on vertigo with a special interest in migraine associated dizziness. She will speak on diagnosis and treatment.

Dr Jas Sandhu has been working with patients with dizziness and imbalance for almost 15 years. He is dual qualified as an audiological scientist and doctor and is currently undertaking surgical training in otolaryngology. His research interest is in the objective measurements of vestibular function and he has published a number of seminal papers on the subject.

objectives

  • To present the audience with some of the latest otology research being undertaken by UK trainees or young consultants, through short paper presentations
  • The participants will be informed about the clinical place and value of ‘video head impulse test’ (vHIT) and ‘vestibular evoked myogenic potentials’ (VEMPS) investigations, in the work up of their dizzy patients.  They will understand the contribution of these tests to determine and localise dysfunction in the vestibular system
  • The diagnosis and treatment of migraine associated vertigo will be understood, improving the participants clinical practice
