DESCRIPTION:Dear Friends and Colleagues\, \nIt gives me great pleasure to invite you to the 8th Foundation Surgical Skills Course in Otolaryngology (FSSCO). As with past installments\, this annual workshop promises to be an exciting and educational event. \nThis workshop will be held from the 29th January 2018 to the 6th February 2018\, and I am delighted to announce that it will be held at the newly-refurbished and state-of-the-art Center for Advanced Clinical & Surgical Skills (CACS) at Changi General Hospital. \nThe workshop will again feature multiple instructional courses that are aimed at providing strong foundational skills and up-to-date knowledge in practical anatomy and surgery for both junior as well as practicing Otolaryngologists. \nBuilding on the positive feedback and demand from both local and regional participants\, the workshop will run over 9 days. There will be 2 days of Rhinology\, 2 days of Facial Plastic\, 2 days of Head & Neck Surgery\, 1 day of Laryngology\, and 2 days of Otology. We have the privilege of having a group of teaching faculty who are experienced subspecialists within the respective fields from all over Singapore\, as well as overseas centers\, that will make the quality of learning of the highest standard.\n​\nThe program is deliberately designed with short lectures to highlight pertinent and practical surgical tips and to leave participants with ample cadaveric dissection time. DESCRIPTION:about this event\nThis afternoon meeting will offer an interesting update on the modern investigations of dizziness – ‘video head impulse test’ (vHIT) and ‘vestibular evoked myogenic potentials’ (VEMPS) will be discussed. \n Dr Louisa Murdin is a widely published expert on vertigo with a special interest in migraine associated dizziness. She will speak on diagnosis and treatment. \nDr Jas Sandhu has been working with patients with dizziness and imbalance for almost 15 years. He is dual qualified as an audiological scientist and doctor and is currently undertaking surgical training in otolaryngology. DESCRIPTION:Estimados compañeros: \nOs recuerdo que está abierta la matrícula para el III Curso Teórico Práctico de Cirugía Tiroidea y Disección Cervical que organiza el Servicio de ORL del Complejo Hospitalario Universitario de Badajoz\, tanto en su modalidad teórica como práctica\, que se celebrará en febrero de 2018. \nAnimados por el éxito de los dos cursos precedentes\, con un alto indice de valoración por parte de los alumnos participantes\, hemos preparado una nueva edición en la que ademas de cirugía en directo (todos los años realizamos una tirodectomía total de un bocio endotorácico\, una hemitiriodectomía y una paratiriodectomía con gammacámara) \, se aborda la patología tiroidea y paratiroidea desde un punto de vista teórico. \nContamos con disección cervical en cadáver del tiroides para que lo alumnos practiquen\, así como disección cervical completa (vaciamientos\, laringectomias totales y parciales\, cirugía de las glándulas salivares\, del espacio parafaringeo y traquea). \nQueremos que además de ser una plataforma de lanzamiento de esta cirugía en nuestra especialidad\, este curso sirva como foro para que todos los que hacemos la realizamos podamos compartir los últimos avances y nuestras experiencias \nSe encuentra acreditado por la Comisión de Formación Continuada del Sistema Nacional de Salud y por nuestra SEORL y CC \nEl año pasado hubo muchas solicitudes del curso\, en su modalidad de práctica en cadaver\, que hubieron de ser rechazadas por estar cubiertas las plazas cuando se solicitaron\, por lo que os animo a que si estáis interesados hagáis la inscripción lo antes posible. DESCRIPTION:DESCRIPCIÓN\nSe trata de un curso intensivo de microcirugía principalmente vascular\, pero también con atención a la microcirugía nerviosa. El curso consta de una parte básica y otra avanzada. En la parte básica el alumno se entrena en las suturas microvasculares y nerviosas más usuales en el modelo de rata. En la parte avanzada se describen y practican diversos colgajos microvasculares en la rata\, como colgajos miocutáneos\, colgajos de perforantes y modelos de colgajo facial de la rata. Es la sociedad más prestigiosa en este área a nivel mundial y contaremos con la participación de mas de 100 panelistas. En esta ocasión tendremos el honor de contar con 4 invitados especiales que han sido ejemplo de dedicación toda una vida a la Otología; por un lado los Profesores Bruce Gantz (USA) y Jacques Magnan (Francia) y de nuestro país los Profesores Francisco Antolí-Candela y Emilio García-Ibáñez\, maestros de toda una generación. \nEl congreso será del 21 al 24 de Febrero de 2018 en Las Palmas de Gran Canaria y es una gran oportunidad tanto para otorrinos jóvenes como especialistas en otología y otoneurología de compartir de forma directa y abierta con nuestros colegas de todo el mundo y participar. DESCRIPTION:Queridos compañeros\, \nAún quedan algunas plazas de disección disponibles para la próxima edición de CENSBASE\, que se celebrará del 28 de febrero al 3 de marzo.\nSi estas interesado en la cirugía endoscópica nasal y deseas iniciarte en la técnicas avanzadas\, esta es una oportunidad. Podrás practicar en el cadáver conservado mediante técnica de Thiel la cirugía del seno frontal desde el Draf 1 al Draf 3\, aprender a abordar la región selar\, el seno cavernoso\, la fosa infratemporal o la fosa craneal anterior. También tendrás la posibilidad de realizar los colgajos intranasales que no solo te resolverán muchos problemas\, sino que te convertirán en imprescindible para los neurocirujanos de tu hospital.
