SUMMARY:TRANSORAL ENDOSCOPIC ULTRASONIC SURGERY
DESCRIPTION:The present and future development of head and neck surgery is the transoral approach. After the success of transoral microscopic laser surgery in the last decades\, the future belongs to Transoral Endoscopic Surgery (TOES). Ultrasonic Transoral Endoscopic Surgery (TOUSS) is gradually becoming the most accessible alternative for the endoscopic approach of pharyngeal and laryngeal lesions. The most outstanding aspect of TOUSS are the features offered by the ultrasonic scalpel: clean and safe transoral resections\, with adequate control of the anatomy during resection.\nThe aim of the present course is to explain the fundamentals of Transoral Ultrasonic Surgery (TOUSS)\, and to practice in the Anatomy lab the correct set up as well as the basic procedures. The ultimate goal of this course is to improve our student skills\, that allows them to continue their progression in their own departments.
