SUMMARY:4TH INTERNATIONAL TRANSORAL ROBOTIC SURGERY (TORS) CONFERENCE
DESCRIPTION:Course Overview\nTransOral Robotic Surgery (TORS) was first developed in 2004 at the University of Pennsylvania and in 2009 the FDA approved robotic surgery for selected malignancies of the oral cavity\, pharynx and larynx and all benign tumors. In 2014\, the FDA cleared robotic surgery for benign base of tongue resection procedures. When we first began our conferences the focus was the introduction and teaching of new techniques. TORS has now become the standard of care for benign diseases and malignant tumors of the head and neck. As TORS has evolved our conference has as well. The conference is geared to educate not only those just beginning to integrate TORS into their treatment approaches\, but also physicians who have significant experience in TORS and would like to advance their knowledge further. \nObjectives \nUpon completion of this course\, participants should be able to: \n• Describe the basic function of a robotic surgical system \n• Identify the most common oncologic indications and contraindications for the use of a robotic surgical system \n• Discuss Transoral Robotic Surgery for benign and malignant tumors of the mouth and throat \n• Define preoperative evaluation and indications for the use of Transoral Robotic Surgery for Benign Base-of-Tongue Resection \n• Assess postoperative management of patients undergoing TransOral Robotic Surgery \n• Describe the role of Transoral Robotic Surgery in the multidisciplinary treatment of oropharyngeal cancer and how adjuvant therapy should be considered. \n• Employ effective communication skills to ensure information exchanges between all provider teams leading to better overall surgical outcomes and patient experience. \n  \nProgram

SUMMARY:XXXIV CURSO DE ANATOMÍA QUIRÚRGICA Y DISECCIÓN DE CUELLO Y GLÁNDULAS SALIVARES.
DESCRIPTION:El curso será eminentemente práctico\, dedicando las mañanas y las tardes a la disección en cadáver. Habrá un descanso de 13 a 14\, que se aprovecha para comer en la misma Facultad. \n\nDIA 16.\nDisección del plano superficial del cuello: músculo cutáneo (platisma colli) y fascia cervical superficial. Identificación del punto nervioso de Erb y disección de las ramas sensitivas del plexo cervical (nervios occipital menor\, auricular mayor\, transverso del cuello y supraclaviculares). Disección de las venas superficiales (dorsal y ventral).\nDisección de la región suprahioidea (triángulos submandibular y submentoniano): glándula submaxilar\, músculos suprahioideos (vientre anterior del músculo digástrico\, milohioideo\, genihioideo)\, y de los espacios supra e infradigástricos (Beclard y Pirogoff). Disección de los vasos faciales\, de los vasos linguales y del nervio hipogloso.\nDisección del plano subfacial: músculos esternocleidomastoideo\, omohioideo y esternotiroideo. Disección de los triángulos carotídeo y muscular (omotraqueal).\nDisección de la fosa supraclavicular: triángulos omoclavicular y omotrapecial. \nDIA 17. \nDisección y exposición del espacio cervical central: disección de la glándula tiroides\, de la cúpula pleural y de los vasos y nervios de la región\, previa desarticulación de la clavícula.\nDisección de la laringe y de la faringe. Pedículos laríngeos: musculatura laringea y faringea. Relaciones de la laringe y faringe\, con abertura y disección endocavitaria.\nDisección de la región parotídea y nervio facial extratemporal\,\nDisección de colgajo de pectoral mayor.\nDirectores del Curso: F.
