SUMMARY:MEDICAL EXPERT TRAINING IN ENDOSCOPIC SINUS SURGERY
DESCRIPTION:INTRODUCTION  \nEndoscopic sinus surgery techniques have developed rapidly over the last twenty years and\nremain the gold-standard approach for sinus procedures. Although most surgeons receive\nadequate training in basic sinus surgery techniques\, there has been considerable advancements\nin these techniques\, indications and extent of surgery feasible with endoscopic techniques.\nContinuous education with didactic and practical courses represents the most valuable tool to\nremain abreast of such developments and maintain surgical skills. The main goal of this training\nopportunity provided by leading experts in this field is to provide the participants with a safe and\nsupported environment to gain instructions and hands on training in all aspects of Endoscopic\nsinus surgery. \nCONCEPT \nThe course objectives are:\n· To review the endoscopic anatomy of the nose and sinuses.\n· To provide the opportunity to improve the skills handling endoscopes and instruments in the\nnose and to learn\, step-by-step\, the endoscopic surgery of the nasal cavity and sinuses\, including\naccess to the frontal\, exposure of the ethmoidal and sphenopalatine arteries\, endoscopic DCR\,\norbital and optic nerve decompression\, canthotomy and cantholysis etc.\n· To learn decision-making in the management of sinonasal lesions.\n· A stepwise surgical approach to the nose and sinuses on FRESH cadaver. \nFACULTY \nProf. Manuel Bernal-Sprekelsen\nProf. Isam Alobid\nProf. Anshul Sama\nProf. Andrew Swift\nDr.Cristóbal Langdon\nProf. Pär Stjärne \nVer Programa \n
